Being organised means that work goes a lot more smoothly and can be completed at a faster rate. It also means that you will be less likely to keep getting interrupted by complaints from customers who are still waiting for jobs to be completed.
Making sure that you take deadlines into account and how long each task will take means that you can more easily prioritise and ensure that your workers are doing work in an order that makes sense. This will keep your employees happy, as they know they are doing what they are meant to be doing, but it also helps the day-to-day operation of things go well.
Working in a clean, tidy, comfortable office is much better when it comes to employees’ productivity levels than a messy, dirty one. Make sure there is enough storage for items to be put away when they’re not needed and give all employees a bin for their rubbish – it’s a small thing but it will make a big difference.
If you have the space, creating a break room will also work wonders for productivity. It will need to be comfortable and include all the things that anyone would want including somewhere to prepare meals, a fridge and a microwave.

Offering incentives may sound as though you are offering bribes but it’s not quite like that! Incentivising your employees to do their best work can actually lead to a lot more work being done, as well as helping the success of the company. Being rewarded for a job well done will increase your employees’ productivity levels as they will want to continue being rewarded and they will want to continue to please you. There may even be a sense of healthy competition among employees which can further enhance productivity.
If you have a job to do that you are dreading, make sure you get it done and out of the way first thing in the morning. Do that and the rest of the day will feel a lot better and you’ll get more done. If you leave it until last because you keep putting it off, the whole day will be leading up to that particular job and because you’re thinking about it and worrying about it the rest of your work may suffer.
